Laureates Honored at Nobel Monument Ceremony
On May 28, 2009, the Consulate General of Sweden in New York and the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation arranged the sixth annual Nobel Monument Inscription Ceremony.
At this special event taking place in Theodore Roosevelt Park, the addition of names of the following honorees of 2008 were celebrated:
Yoichiro Nambu (Physics)
Martin Chalfie (Chemistry)
Roger Y. Tsien (Chemistry)
Paul R. Krugman (Economics)
The event featured remarks by Dr. Martin Chalfie and Ms. Mingzhu Li, student and one of the winners of The Laureates of Tomorrow - Nobel Essay Contest, as well as by Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe and Ambassador Ulf Hjertonsson, Consul General of Sweden in New York.
