Groundbreaking Ceremony


On December 17, 2001, work began in earnest with a groundbreaking ceremony, when New York City's former Park Commissioner Henry Stern and former Consul General Olle Wästberg dug the first shovelfulls of dirt in the park at 81st Street and Columbus Avenue.
